Mutterings
Welcome to Mutterings; Proprietor (& former journalist) Sarah Mountford's collection of photos, articles, links, comment, videos, recommendations and understandings from the world of Mutts.

what makes a good walk…?

Transporting dogs safely

Meet & greet
Meeting & greeting at House of Mutt. There’s A Process. Of course there is!

school’s out. Or is it…?

Vet access (Crossing T’s & Dotting I’S…)
Is precaution always better than cure? We think so - if the precaution has been dealt with allowing the cure to more easily happen!

18 years young(ish!)
Coming up to 18 so now seems a good time to celebrate all thing Hubble - meeting & greeting at the HoM Old Rectory door for over 15 years!

Dogs do good

Something in the air - does just the smell of stress affect dogs?

It’s all about the fluff!

HoM Office (& various 4-legged assistants!)

suffolk Artist turns her focus on hoM dogs
Artist Lucy Perry turns her attention to HoM dogs. Beautiful colours writ large. Lovely :)

Licensing
Home Boarding is a growing business. How does licensing work and what does it take to get a license?

horses out, HOm in…
After 14 years of office’ing from a spare sitting room in the house, HoM finally now has an office of its own! Poor homeless horses, but happy peeps…

Razzing it up at Red Rooster!
Lots of fun - and a smattering of work - for the House of Mutt team again this year at the Duke of Grafton's Red Rooster Festival. Trainer Olivia Turner & HoM’s Sarah Mountford got nabbed by BBC Radio - wise words from one, a smidge of festival’y over-excitement from t’other…

Mutt Mitts
We now have supplies in stock of the new Mutt Mitts, biodegradable cleansing mitts for use on dogs (and people, and car seats, and wellies, or whatever really) .

How much fun was that
So. We threw a birthday party! Not our usual sideways nod or extra biscuit, but a full on PARTY birthday party. On instruction obviously, and with (amazing) cake provided. We were a tad short on time that day I seem to remember. But oh my goodness, what fun it was!

LIFE IN LOCKDOWN: HOW CAN WE HELP?
How can we help during Lockdown?
HoM is very much still open. We have a little contingent in – one whose owner has been unwell, one abroad, and so on. And it’s turning out that we’re coming to London about once every week/10 days for emergency trips.

DOGS IN LOCKDOWN
Spring 2020: strange times for us all, and not least for our dogs. Obviously there are joys of endless cuddles, company and companionship but, like many a parent out there with children recently come home to roost, learning to share your home FULL TIME with those you love doesn’t necessarily come without its challenges!

it’s all glamour
I love the fact that dogs are often portrayed in the media as being glamorous accessories for their particularly glamorous owners. And the few journalist bods who have been here thankfully tend to go down the same route: sooo sweet, such fun, sooo gorgeous :)

BLOOMIN’ BREXIT…
Brexit looms. (Possibly. Sometime.) Bringing with it plenty of questions about everything, but what we’re interested in here is dogs – and more specifically, how Brexit will affect people wanting to travel abroad with theirs.
