artist‘Mouse’ Cooper has some excellent tricks for getting under the skin of his subjects!

David ‘Mouse’ Cooper is a figurative artist based in Norfolk. Before turning to art full time he was a professional jockey, spending years racing and caring for horses. That experience gave him the deep understanding of animals that now helps inform so much of his artwork.

He is a regular at House of Mutt, painting many of the dogs who come and stay, and spending an inordinate amount of time on all fours ‘getting to know them’. It works - in his portraits, characters shine through, eyes glow, colours pop, and pesky personalities have nowhere to hide!

His website is Home - David 'Mouse' Cooper Do have a browse, and if your dog is coming to stay and you’d like a portrait done, let us know :)

(Or if no HoM visit is planned but you fancy a seaside trip to North Norfolk yourself, contact Mouse direct. The wonderful, spoiling and entirely dog-friendly Holkham Hall’s Victoria Hotel is 10 minutes down the road from his and would make a lovely HQ for coastal exploring!)
